It's meant to be run from a web-server you connect to from your browser. So the web-server would be the "executable" in this instance. Why they chose to do things this way, I do not know.
You host the webserver software on your own machine. The method I used was a bit in-depth, using apache's webserver software, because the game wasn't coded to be run directly from the browser, for whatever reason.
There's a softlock in the library. I don't know if it happens 100% of the time, but climbing the ladder in the very back can put the player partway inside the wall, preventing all movement.
For some reason there isnt a game file in the download. Ive looked through every file and checked everything, there isnt an exe file or anything similar so im just wondering if theres a bug or something
A tutorial, or at least a readme, describing how to host the game locally for personal enjoyment would be nice. As it stands, it's not possible to play it directly from disk, other software appears to be needed.
I did manage to setup a simple Apache Http server to host the game locally/privately and it works. It did take about 20 minutes (for a tech literate individual) to figure out and setup, though.

how'd you make it work, for me there is no model walking around and there is no way to interact with anything

I had such a situation. Unfortunately this is a critical bug and you need to start the game again.
Is this game dead?
Really wish I could see the character sprite and was not floating around and going through walls like I'm in spectator mode in Minecraft.

i cant even get out of the first house.. i keep getting stuck and cannot move just rotate..
q and e to rotate camera, arrow keys to move
